I was commissioned by Elephant and Bird Books to make a pirate ship for a pirate treasure hunt book. The final spread of the book folds out in to a map of the seas and within this there is a pop up pirate ship.
As well as the fully formed pop up pirate ship with sails, multiple levels, a plank to walk and cutout slips to insert the pirates in to, there is also a mechanism within the ship that allows the oars to row when the rudder is pushed forwards and backwards (please see the images and videos below)
